BAD AND GOOD NEWS

Everyone in my life, including family and close friends, is always asking me how I hear God. I love that, because when we hear each other’s experiences it can inspire the understanding of the mystery of God’s voice. I have bad news that is actually really good news, and you already probably know it:

Prophecy is about relationship.

No two relationships are alike, and no one can teach you exactly how to be extremely intimate with God in the specific way you long for, but relational skills can be built. He has promised you his Holy Spirit to take you on this journey. I am learning about God by the way he communicates, even through my own gift of prophecy. Sometimes what he says to me is a stretch to my theology or understanding of psychology. Sometimes what I hear is so unusual that in hearing his message for someone else, I grow in my own choices to love and relate to his heart for me.
